The iPod is one of the newest ways to listen to your music. If you have a little computer savvy, you can purchase an iPod and start downloading all of your favorite songs directly to your iPod. If you want to take your music with you wherever you go, that is what the iPod is all about. That is exactly what it is designed for. Simply plug in your ear buds, clip on the iPod and go. You have discovered the unique portability of the iPod.

However, iPods are not just for on the go. There are ways you can connect you iPod to your favorite home stereo equipment so your and your friends can enjoy all of your favorite tunes, too. Want to connect your iPod to your home stereo and have not a clue how to get started? Here is a look at the basics of how to solve this puzzling problem. The solution could be as easy as a few cables and a Dock connector.

Would not it be convenient to plug in your iPod to your home stereo when you are home with the stomach virus or when snow is piled high outside your door? Plug it in while you are secluded indoors and watch and listen on the big screen to your favorite music and videos.

Or maybe you are giving a big party and want everyone to enjoy all your favorite music downloads. With a little instruction and some equipment, you will soon be listening to your iPod music at home or on the go.

You can use your headphone jack to connect your iPod to your home or car stereo using third-party stereo adapters. In order to connect your iPod to a home stereo, you will need a 3.5 mm RCA adapter cable to connect the iPod and the sound input of the amplifier.

Most of the equipment you will need for this process can be found at electronic stores. To keep from blowing out the speakers on your amplifier, turn the volume down to less than half on your iPod. Use your stereos control panel to control the volume to the desired level. Your iPod may need to be set higher than half, depending on your particular stereo, so you can get a reasonable volume through the outside speakers.

After you have done this, you are ready to connect your iPod to your car stereo. There are a few things you will need.

First, you will need a 3.5 mm extension cable with stereo connectors on each end plugged into the aux input of your car stereo. You can also use a cassette adapter if your car stereo does not have a sound input jack. Both of these items can be found at car accessory retailers. Next, if your iPod has a dock connector, you may be able to connect to some cars with a special adapter.

The Universal Dock is just that, universal. With the Universal Dock, you can do a variety of things.

First, connect the dock to your computer with the cable that came with your iPod. Now place your iPod in the dock to sync and charge the battery. You will not have to reach behind the computer to plug it in anymore. Connect the dock to an electrical outlet using an iPod Power Adapter, and then place your iPod in the dock to charge the battery.

Connect the Dock to a stereo or speakers using an iPod AV Cable or a stereo audio cable to play music from iPod. Control playback from a distance using the Apple Remote. Display photos on a TV or other video device using an iPod AV Cable or S-video cable if you have an iPod with a color display. Display videos on a TV or other video device using an iPod AV Cable or S-video cable if you have an iPod with video capability.

The Universal Dock

The Universal Dock is the ultimate iPod docking solution. Any model of iPod with a dock connector can fit perfectly into a single Universal Dock through the use of interchangeable inserts called Dock Adapters. You simply insert the Dock Adapter that fits your particular iPod model, and then plug in your iPod. When you want to connect a different-size iPod, simply pop out the Dock Adapter and insert a new one.

The iPod Universal Dock package includes adapters for five iPods. New iPods will include adapters for that model, and other adapters are available separately.

The right quality and type of speaker can make or break our home theater system as 50% of its impact is sound. If we want the perfect home theater system, it has to go hand-in-hand with an ultimate home listening experience that surpasses all others. The speaker is an important choice for those who are creating the ultimate in entertainment in their home.

If the installation of the home theater system is to be installed in the home, some time may need to be carefully considered before purchasing a speaker system that will work fully, at least to the level that you need it to. There are several name brands on the market.

Is one of these speaker brands better than another one? It is always about preferences and what is affordable to the budget. That is because for each person, there will be a different need, a different product and a different price range. Luckily, there are plenty of speaker options to select from on the home theater level.

A theater speaker should be chosen to fit the exact needs of the consumer. For example, it is important to select a speaker system that will work well for the specific home’s size needs. The larger that room regardless where it is, the more the speaker sound needs to fill it – with several speakers if needed. If the speaker does not provide a clear enough range of sound, the theater system is nothing more than just noise and no impact.

Also, depending in the area of the home that the speaker and home theater will work, there are specifics to consider. The basement area of a home that is turned into a home theater may be ideal for some. But, the speakers should provide for enough coverage without sounding hollow, as some rooms in addition to the basement have the ability to do.

An excellent manufacturer of surround sound, the SRS Labs has developed patented surround sound technology for the home entertainment market, along with others. Their technology is found in over 600 million hardware and software products from leading brand names. So, when considering what speakers will be needed, make sure they are a high quality brand and decent sound to carry throughout the room – this is what makes the “theater sound” that we love.

Consider the home theater’s size as the first consideration for the system’s speakers. Some speakers are simply cheap, with a tinny sound. Get good advice from professionals and talk to people who know about speakers. It can also be quite important to insure that the speaker is within our specific budget range too, as they can become rather pricey.

Introduction to Blu-ray

Blu-ray, also known as Blu-ray Disc (BD), is the name of the most technologically advanced optical disc storage medium on the market. Blu-ray was developed by the Blu-ray Disc Association (BDA), which is a group of the worlds leading consumer electronics, computer hardware and motion picture companies. The BD disc has the same physical dimensions as a standard DVD and CD, but its main advantages are more storage space for data and the ability to store high-definition video. This allows Blu-ray players to play the highest quality movies at 1080p resolution with an HDMI cable. Blu-ray Disks are able to hold up to ten times more storage capacity than a traditional DVD, that is 25GB on a single-layer disc and 50GB on a dual-layer disc. Recent developments by Pioneer players have pushed the storage capacity to 500GB on a single disc by using 20 layers but they are still developiing and perfecting the technology.

If you like burning with your existing DVD burner on your computer, you will love a Blu-ray burner. The Blu-ray format is able to store much more data due to its blue-violet laser which has a shorter wave length than the DVD standard of a red laser. This offers the Blu-ray media to focus the laser with even greater precision offering the data to be packed more tightly and use less space on the disc. That is where is can hold ten times as much data, a DVD single layer will hold 4.7GB where as a dual-layer Blu-ray disc will hold 50GB. Many Bly-ray players are backwards compatible with DVD and CD discs so you can watch your current collection.

On Going Development

The companies in the Blu-ray Disc Association are working on improving Blu-ray discs and making them cheaper. There are over 1200 Blu-ray movies currently on Blu-ray discs and they are always releasing more every week. Currently, the companies are working on making quad-layer 100GB discs, 200GB discs and even a 20 layer 500GB disc. There are also Mini Blu-ray Discs which have been developed for compact camcorders and other compact recording devices. But the most exciting development has to be the recordable Blu-ray disc. As with DVD, they will have a single use disc or BD-R and a disc that can be erased and re-recorded multiple times, the BD-RE. The first recordable discs were released in February 2008 and in March 2008, BD-R gained official support from the Sony Playstation 3. If you are in the market to upgrade or start your home entertainment system, a Blu-ray player and/or a Blu-ray recorder are must have items for any entertainment enthusiast.

The Office is my all time favourite tv show at the moment and I was so unhappy when it was temporarily cancelled due to the writer’s strike. I realise that everyone wants more money but what about what the people need?

Anyway, I heard the strike is over and the writers are returning to write. This means that the sitcom will be returning on air in Apr and I couldn’t be any happier. I am not only glad the sitcom is coming back but I also have a fantastic new HDTV that I cannot wait to try out on The Office.

A couple weeks ago, my little old 19 inch gave out and I knew it was time to take a bounce into the 21st century by buying a shiny new HDTV. All of my friends have been on my case trying to get me to buy a newer tv but I never saw the necessity for it since my 19 inch was perfectly suitable enough for my taste.

Since I had to buy the new tv, I decided on the HDTV as my friends suggested. Ostensibly, I didn’t search it good enough because I didn’t know that in order to get HDTV channels I would have to pay my Dish Co. more money a month!

As if I do not pay enough money as it is and now after dishing out a grand on the television, I will have to pay even more per month. Instead of just succumbing to the realization that I would just have to deal with paying for it, I went online to see if there was a way around it.

I am so pleased I did because I found antennas that will recognize the signals I obtain from my cable Co.. I was dumbfounded to see the antennas were not a ton of money so I purchased one. Anyway, I am looking forward to watching The Office on my new TV.

Maybe Jim and Pam will get married, probably not. Whom I love the best is Michael on the program because he reminds me so much of my old superior. It’s impressive how many of things that travel out of his pie hole sounds a lot like something he would say.

Not only that, a lot of the stuff he says is such a shock that you just can’t help but laugh. Now that I have a new television to watch and many new shows starting up, I just know that it’s going to be the best TV watching experience I have had in a real long time.
